The Literary Journal of Palomar College

BRAVURA

Established in 1964

bra•vu•ra (br vyeor’ ;brä veo’ rä) – a daring display of brilliant skill

Established in 1964, Bravura is an award-winning literary journal that features the prose, poetry, and visual art of Palomar College students. Bravura showcases the amazing talent of students from Palomar and local high schools, and creates a creative community on campus (and virtually!).

Published every May, each issue of Bravura is produced by the student writers and editors who enroll in English 137: The Literary Magazine – History and Production (offered only during the spring semester). These students produce a high-quality literary journal that is funded by student fees, the English Department, and the President’s Associates. Many of the editors and writers featured in Bravura have gone on to be published elsewhere and have enrolled in graduate programs in English, creative writing, and book publishing. Students in English 137 learn skills as diverse as creative writing, graphic design, event planning, editing, marketing, website design, and more!
