Through the second annual Cover Design Contest, you now have a chance to design the cover of the 2020 edition of Bravura! Be the face of Bravura 2021!!!
Bravura seeks to share the exciting visual and literary arts of the fabulous creative community of Palomar College.
Submissions for the 2021 Cover Design Contest Deadline TBA.
Call for submissions: Current Palomar Students and Alumni/former students: We want YOU to submit your design(s) for what you would like to see on the cover of the 2021 issue of Bravura, Palomar College’s award-winning annual literary journal!
What is this contest?
Bravura seeks to share the creativity of the fabulous current/former students and Alumni of Palomar College. We aim to reflect the diversity of student experiences through by giving students a voice in the design of the cover for the 2021 edition of Bravura. Since the journal is comprised of creative works by the Palomar community, we believe that this form of representation should begin with the cover.
Who can Submit?
This contest is only open to former/current Palomar College students and Alumni. Please no High School submissions.
What do I Submit?
The only content requirement for the cover design is that it includes “Bravura” and “2021.”
Your submission(s) should be in landscape format as a JPEG, PNG or PDF file. The resolution should be a minimum of 500KB, but ideally 1MB or above is the best option.
You may submit up to 5 separate cover designs for consideration.
How do I Submit?
Please email your submission(s) to email@example.com with “Cover Contest” in the subject line.
In the email include your full name and your affiliation with Palomar College (current student or alumni/ former student, year/s attended)
Attach your submission(s) to the email as separate files. Each file must include your name and the title of your submission. Since we do not expect you to give full titles to the submissions, as we do for the journal submissions, you can just include a descriptive word or phrase in lieu of a title.
EX: A cover submission that includes a photo of birds pooping on an unsuspecting person could be titled “birds” or “birds pooping” (if you want to be more specific). The goal of these file names is to help us keep track of the entries during the review process, so a general descriptive phrase is fine! EX file name: JDoe_Cover Contest_birds
We can’t wait to see your vision for the cover of Bravura 2021!
We reserve the right to edit the submission, if chosen for publication.
